Strategic Cooperation
Lidl Hungary’s 280 stores will now regularly donate food to the Hungarian Food Bank. This partnership allows us to save and deliver more than 15 tons of quality, near-expiry food to needy families every week.
“We are pleased to join the Hungarian Food Bank network. It is important for us to fight against food waste while helping those in need. This partnership perfectly fits Lidl’s sustainability strategy – said Péter Kovács, CEO of Lidl Hungary.
Long-term Goals
The cooperation extends beyond food donations. The two organizations are jointly developing logistics processes to operate even more efficiently. Our plans include launching joint educational programs that educate communities about reducing food waste and conscious consumption.
